28 May ABP 2nd Anniversary Dinner: New Plan Announced to promote East London as a “World Village”
28 May, ABP held a celebratory dinner at the prestigious Wallace Collection in Central London to mark the 2nd Anniversary since signing its Royal Albert Dock Development Agreement. More than 100 guests from the delivery team, partners, as well as European and Asian businesses, celebrated the progress ABP is making.
Speakers included the former Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government Sir Eric Pickles, Mayor of Newham Sir Robin Wales, Managing Director of Petrol China International and Chairman of The China Enterprises Association in Britain, Si Bingjun.
Many distinguished guests offered toasts including Sir Tom Troubridge, Chairman of China Business Group in PwC, Gordon Luo, UK CEO of Huawei, Junle Xie, Deputy CEO of China Construction Bank (London), Jinhai Geng, CEO of China Taiping Insurance UK, Andy Davison, Principal Adviser for International Business of London & Partners, Lin Ning, Chief Representative of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade UK Office, Lu Xiao, Deputy General Manager of ICBC (London), Peter Barbalov, Partner of Farrells, Piers Nickalls, Director of Savills, and Kim Bromley-Derry, Chief Executive of Newham Council.
Speaking at the dinner, the company’s Chairman, Xu Weiping announced there are now plans for UK China Investment Summit to be held in September to explore how to make East London into a “World Village”, which will be the gateway not only to the UK but also to Europe and the rest of the world.
Mr Xu also announced that the current Vice Chairman Nancy Xu is being promoted to lead the UK project.
