Phase 1 . Royal Albert Dock


1. Waterfront Promenade

The dock front walkway provides continuous pedestrian and cycle connectivity and waterside amenity.

2. Dockside Parks and Gardens

Sheltered pocket parks and mini squares that provide amenity space and linkage between dockside and the scheme.

3. Mews Streets

Linear pedestrian environment sheltered from the main high street with streets opening onto pocket parks and the waterfront.

4. Heritage Buildings

The existing listed buildings will be brought back to life at the heart of the site to house various uses and provide a link with the past.

5. Central Square

The heart of the masterplan and focal point of the scheme, the square will incorporate a variety of uses, architecture and amenity spaces.

6. Main Street

A vibrant 21st Century high street that forms the commercial spine of the site, incorporating a variety of uses and providing connectivity from East to West.

ABP Royal Albert Dock is a mixed-use development and ABP’s delivery team has been working hard to ensure the right balance to make sure this is a lively and attractive place. One of the key features of the development is that it will be a vibrant district where businesses will operate across international time-zones.


ABP has set out to create a place where people can work, live and to enjoy. Predominantly this will be a commercial district but there will also be a strong supporting retail offer and leisure facilities.

The waterside promenade will be opened up and a business main street will be created together with a London Transport bus service adding to the tremendous transport links already in place, as well as car parking and a cycle greenway.


There will be public squares, landscaping, leisure and cultural facilities, hotels, shops, cafes and restaurants and there will be residential units, again to support the development and to ensure that this is an attractive destination beyond normal business hours.
