ABP London showcased the Royal Albert Dock development in Singapore and Hong Kong, attracting hundreds of potential investors and business leaders interested in investment and commercial opportunities being presented by the project, specially created for enterprises seeking to reach new markets in Europe.

This was the first time ABP London showcased in Asia since Planning Permission was granted in the summer of 2015. Representatives from UKTI, UK Foreign Office, Real Estate agent Savills and architect Farrells supported and gave information to the potential investors about the ‘exciting opportunities’ at the ABP Royal Albert Dock £1.7 billion scheme which will provide a London location for companies from Asia.

Acting UK High Commissioner, Ms Alexandra McKenzie gave a speech in Singapore, Director of UK Trade & Investment, British Consulate-General Hong Kong Ms Joanne Howley gave a speech in HK. They explained the business benefits and tax allowances being offered by the UK government to those from Singapore and Hong Kong looking to locate an office within the project which is within a designated Enterprise Zone.

Launching the event in Singapore, Ms McKenzie, said: “The UK Government has a tremendous relationship with Singapore and I am here to tell you about the opportunities that exist at Royal Albert Dock and also elsewhere in the UK. We have a good planning system in the UK, an effective legal system and we are open for business and investment from Asia.”

ABP Chairman Xu Weiping spoke of the global economy shift which has led many companies from Asia to look to London for new opportunities.
